John Oliver comments, quite substantively, on the complex relationship between the NBA, China, Hong Kong, and Houston Rockets’ General Manager Daryl Morey.

And, after that brilliant bit of misdirection, the sting in the tail:

“And the reality is here that the NBA can either have a commitment to free speech, or they can have guaranteed access to the Chinese market, but they cannot have both.”

Correct: you can’t sell it and then have it. Lots of education to come for the NBA on that topic, I’m afraid.
